Walmart added participating CITGO stations to its Walmart+ Gas Savings benefit on Sept. 14, 2026, expanding the program from 13,000 to more than 17,000 locations across the United States. Members can save 10 cents per gallon at participating stations, while the annual Walmart+ membership price remains $98.

The addition increases the number of participating stations by approximately 30%, according to Walmart. The existing network includes participating Walmart, Exxon, Mobil and Murphy stations, along with member fuel prices at Sam’s Club. Walmart said members in parts of the Southeast, Midwest and Northeast are expected to see some of the largest gains in access because of CITGO’s presence in those regions.

Walmart positioned the expansion as a way to provide more recurring value without raising the membership fee. Citing the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the company said average annual household spending on gasoline and other fuels exceeded $2,600 in 2024. Walmart also reported average savings of $109 a year among members with at least 12 months of membership who used the fuel benefit at least weekly from March 2025 through March 2026. That estimate compared member savings with nonmember prices or fees and applies at participating stations under the program’s terms.

To use the discount at CITGO, members must sign in through the Walmart app, open Gas Savings in the member hub and select CITGO. They then create or link a Club CITGO account. At a participating station, the member enters the phone number associated with that account at the pump, or on the indoor PIN pad when paying with cash. The Walmart+ discount is applied after the member selects a fuel grade and begins fueling.

CITGO said Walmart+ members may also receive additional rewards through its Club CITGO loyalty program. Participating locations can be found in the Walmart app. CITGO supplies a network of approximately 4,000 locally owned and independently operated branded retail outlets, while Walmart+ offers its broader package of membership benefits for $98 annually, subject to applicable restrictions and terms.
