Prime Video has introduced curated playlists of on-demand clips covering major national and local news stories, Amazon said in an update dated September 14, 2026. The News Clips feature is available through Prime Video’s dedicated U.S. news destination on living room devices, while access through mobile devices and the web is coming soon.
The dedicated news destination is accessible from the Prime Video homepage to all customers in the United States, with or without a Prime membership. Customers can find the new playlists by scrolling to the Trending Topics or Local News carousel on the dedicated news page, which is also available through the app’s top navigation.
Each playlist brings together short-form clips from multiple news sources, according to Amazon, allowing viewers to catch up on selected topics without watching full-length programs. Brian Griffin, head of global app experience at Prime Video, said the feature was designed for customers who cannot watch breaking news when it happens.
“With News Clips, customers have a quick and easy way to get caught up on the latest stories happening in their neighborhood and around the world.”
Prime Video already offers free, around-the-clock access to local, national and world news through its dedicated destination. Its lineup includes ABC News Live, CBS News 24/7, LiveNOW from Fox, CNN Headlines and NBC News NOW, alongside hundreds of other free ad-supported streaming television channels. Available programming includes news reports throughout the day, financial market analysis and talk shows.
Additional news services are available through third-party subscriptions, including Peacock Premium Plus, Paramount+, FOX One and CNN All Access. Amazon said it plans to continue expanding the selection and adding features intended to support convenient, on-demand viewing.
