The President signed four bills into law on Friday, September 11, 2026, covering Federal spending transparency, disaster-related tax relief, a Kentucky land parcel and a proposed emergency medical services memorial. The laws expand transparency requirements to other transaction agreements, extend and codify specified disaster tax provisions, and make two changes involving Federal lands.
H.R. 2069, the “Stop Secret Spending Act of 2025,” expands Federal spending transparency requirements to include other transaction agreements. It also modifies related standards, oversight and reporting.
H.R. 5366, the “Doug LaMalfa Federal Disaster Tax Relief Certainty Act,” extends and codifies the Federal tax deduction for qualified disaster-related personal casualty losses. It also extends and codifies the exclusion from gross income of qualified wildfire relief payments.
H.R. 1276 directs the Department of the Interior to remove all deed restriction from an approximately 3.62-acre parcel conveyed by the Department to the City of Paducah, Kentucky. H.R. 2196, the “National Emergency Medical Services Memorial Extension Act,” extends the National Emergency Medical Services Memorial Foundation’s authority to establish a commemorative work on Federal lands in the District of Columbia honoring the commitment and service represented by emergency medical services personnel.
