U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported Mexican national Oscar Sanchez-Corona on September 4, 2026, following his August 18 arrest in Shawnee, Kansas. The Department of Homeland Security said he had previously been deported in March 2013 and later re-entered the United States illegally at an unknown date and location.
According to DHS, Sanchez-Corona admitted when arrested that he was in the United States illegally. The department described him as an illegal alien and said his criminal history includes convictions for use or possess drug paraphernalia to introduce in human body, criminal damage to property, and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
DHS also listed arrests for driving under the influence of liquor and illegal entry. The department distinguished those arrests from the convictions in its account and did not provide dates, jurisdictions, sentences, or further details about the cited cases.
Sanchez-Corona first entered the United States illegally at an unknown date and location, DHS said. A Department of Justice immigration judge granted him voluntary departure on October 22, 2010, but DHS said he did not leave within the required period. He was subsequently deported in March 2013.
DHS said Sanchez-Corona later returned to the United States illegally, characterizing the re-entry after deportation as a felony. The department did not specify when or where that re-entry occurred before ICE arrested him in Kansas and carried out his second deportation.
