Apple will open pre-orders for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on Saturday, September 12, at 5 a.m. PT through apple.com and the Apple Store app. The two models will become available in stores and online worldwide on Friday, September 18, with a new Siri AI experience rolling out in beta as part of iOS 27.
Apple said Siri AI is designed to use personal context, broad world knowledge and onscreen awareness to help users find information and complete tasks. The company describes the system as a more personal, capable and conversational assistant, while emphasizing privacy and security; its claims about the assistant’s capabilities have not been independently established in the announcement.
Both phones are powered by the A20 Pro chip and include a next-generation vapor chamber intended to support sustained performance and on-device AI workloads. Their 48MP Fusion Main camera introduces a variable aperture that automatically adjusts for depth of field and lighting, while customizable Pro controls provide quicker access to frequently used Camera app settings. Apple also says Cinematic effects can be applied after capture to video recorded at up to 60 frames per second.
Updated battery designs use silicon efficiencies that Apple says will extend battery life, with iPhone 18 Pro Max delivering the largest increase in iPhone battery life to date. The models will be offered in black, silver, glacier and a new burgundy finish. Customers had until 9 a.m. PT on September 11 to prepare a saved shopping bag with their preferred model, accessories, financing or leasing approval and trade-in details before pre-orders opened.
Apple is offering several purchase options. Customers trading in an iPhone 13 or newer can receive an instant credit of $175 to $885, while select carrier promotions offer up to $1,200 in credit for an iPhone 14 or newer in any condition toward an iPhone 18 Pro model. Apple Upgrade, provided by Klarna, offers 12- and 24-month iPhone leases, with 24-month pricing starting at $34.99 per month before taxes and trade-in credit. Eligible U.S. customers may also use Apple Card Monthly Installments at 0 percent APR and receive 3 percent Daily Cash up front.
The launch also expands Apple’s protection and services offers. AppleCare One Family begins September 14 in the U.S. and is intended to cover eligible products across a Family Sharing group, including automatic coverage for qualifying existing devices, theft and loss protection for iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad, unlimited accidental-damage repairs and 24/7 priority support. New and qualified returning subscribers who purchase either iPhone 18 Pro model can receive three months of Apple One at no charge.
