Apple began rolling out its new Siri AI beta in English on September 14, 2026, as part of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27. French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish support is scheduled for October, while regional, device, age and usage restrictions apply.
The company describes Siri AI as a more conversational assistant with personal-context understanding, broad world knowledge, onscreen awareness and expanded actions across apps. It can use information from messages, emails and photos, answer questions about onscreen content, retrieve current information from the web and privately synchronize conversation history through iCloud across supported Apple devices.
On iPhone, Siri mode in the Camera app can provide information or act on visible content, including splitting a bill through Apple Cash or adding a custom pass to Wallet. Visual Intelligence lets users ask about onscreen content on iPhone, iPad and Mac, while Apple Vision Pro users can ask questions or take actions based on their surroundings. Write with Siri can generate or refine drafts from a user’s description.
Apple Intelligence also adds AI-assisted features across its apps. Photos gains Spatial Reframing, Extend and an upgraded Clean Up tool, while Image Playground can create images in styles including photorealistic. Apple says image metadata and planned support for the SynthID standard will help identify AI-generated or edited images. Safari can organize tabs by topic, notify users about website changes such as restocks or price drops, and create custom extensions from descriptions.
The releases add parental controls including a child-account setup flow, app-by-app access choices and Ask to Browse approval for new websites. Communication Safety now detects and intervenes to block gore or violent content in shared images and videos. A redesigned Screen Time view shows average device use and leading apps, while parents can set total daily allowances across Entertainment, Games and Social Media or schedule access by time of day.
Apple says the updates also improve performance, connectivity and search, with apps launching up to 30 percent faster on iPhone and iPad, newly taken photos loading up to 70 percent faster and AirDrop transfers running up to 80 percent faster. Availability remains limited: Siri AI is initially unavailable on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS in the EU, although supported Macs and Apple Vision Pro devices there can access it. Siri AI and other new Apple Intelligence features are unavailable in China while Apple addresses regulatory requirements, and Siri AI is not available to users under 13. Certain features using server-side models are subject to daily limits, with expanded access planned for a future fee.
